Default Space Hulk gameplay video

Our first glimpse at what Space Hulk looks like at the moment...

Obviously still not finished, but looking good non the less.

Lots of news in the video, but the interesting stuff I can remember from the top of my head are a co-op mode, level editor, custom Chapters, character progression and a possible console version down the road.

Some reading for those who want more coverage...

The possibility of a future console release makes me happy, my laptop has about as much processing power as an abacus. I like that they have stuck to how the board game plays and it looks like this could be bags of fun.

Much as I love Space Hulk, I feel this has been underdone. The map seems kind of weird, what with the corridors among the blackness. Perhaps they could have tried to create an exterior, with a birds-eye cutaway for the corridors. And the cutscenes look like they'd get fairly repetitive fairly quickly - perhaps some variety would brighten that up a bit.

Just compared to what can be done with games these days in terms of graphics, animations and in-game worlds, I don't feel that Space Hulk has been done justice.

The Black Typhoons | Dark Angels 3rd Company | Tharrus Draw's Warband | Dark Angels' Corner | Codices: Marvel Heroes and Marvel Villains

This. I know there likely isn't the funding for the fancy graphics, but even Chaos Gate had animated legs during movement. I can only hope that once they are done production things look a little more detailed.

Gameplay is tough as nails looking. No more trying to get my girlfriend to play 2nd edition with me! They basically converted the rulebook to code it seems, nice and faithful. It would be cool to have mini real time missions as a FPS in between the bigger turn based missions.

Conversely, it would be cool as fuck and sate my desire to punch Genestealers with power fists if they made a patch for Space Marine that let the Exterminatus online play be against Tyranids....and if they included Power Fists in the wargear available.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

They clearly stated that leg animations were one of the things that were not finished on time for the GDC. They will obviously be in the real game itself when its released.

Sorry, I must have spaced out for that part. As interested in this game as I am it was hard to listen to those two guys talk about it.

None of these complaints are valid at all. It's still HEAVILY under production and in a clearly alpha-at-best state. Nothing is final, MUCH needs to be done and this is a barebones dev build.
