Default Total War(hammer)

Afternoon All,

This little piece of information just crossed my desk, courtesy of Alan, one of my Office monkeys:

Sega have just announced that Creative Assembly, makers of games with the name Total War in the title, are partnering with Games Workshop, overlords of the Warhammer franchise.

There is disappointingly little to go on but its a start. i'll keep an eye out for more information and post it up here as and when i get it.

If it ever gets made it'll be exciting. I'd be surprised if GW went in for a total war style game though considering it would literally be virtual warhammer which they've always tried to steer clear of (unless you count mark of chaos but that could have been so much better) in games so they keep people playing the tabletop version (well, in their eyes that's what it was like). Maybe with all the digital releases this is just the next natural step and it would definitely reach a wider audience and maybe get some new blood into the hobby.

Lets hope its real - I've been playing medieval 2 again recently and I still love it. Imagine a the campaign version - and some of the unholy alliances you could potentially create!

Could be awesome. Looking forward to hearing more about it, but by the looks of it, we are realistically speaking about at least 2-3 years before we have anything playable, apart from if its a mobile game of course.

There has been a mod around for Medieval 2 for quite awhile, not sure how good it is though.

Shite, buggy, and russian. Done as well as they could within the Med2 engine.

Meanwhile; boycott CA until they start making some proper modding kit.
