Default Can THQ be saved?

So with all the bad news out there for THQ I was wondering if there was any way it can be saved or if it's just a matter of time before it's down the drain completely. If so, what do you think with dawn of series and GW in general when it comes to video games? Do they go with somebody else? If so who? Also, how did GW end up working with THQ to begin with?

THQ is making very little profit compared to their estimates last year. Some games/studios have actually caused a loss.

I don't think we're looking at a downfall. The company is to big to just fall, the governent of their home country (don't know where they're from.) can always give them a boost.
Look at Silicon Knights, a canadian studio that has been given numerous financial boosts by the canadian govenment to keep them alive.

They can still sell studios and rights to get a little extra income.

But yes, they are going to have a hard time.

On the question whether the DoW series will be saved; Relic studios do most of the work on 40k video games. They could always join a diffrent publisher.

Please have a look at my space marines.

Lord Bane says: "Keep your water bill low, drink more beer!"

My girlfriend said she didn't like Daft Punk. She's single now. Hahahahahaha lol, just kidding. She's dead...

All they have to do is make a decent game, that'll help...they just don't

They have closed down a lot of studios in the last 4-5 years. Including THQ Australia that I never even knew existed.

But they have said themselves they are going to focus on what actually makes them money rather than trying to be innovative and bring out new ideas that no one gives a shit about.

Not as simple as just "joining a different publisher". THQ happens to be the owner of Relic, so to transfer Relic they would have to sell Relic to another publisher, and that would not directly "save" DoW as THQ owns the rights for the 40k video games, not Relic.

I dont see THQ directly going under, the problem they have had is that they concentrated too much of shitty kids games. Luckily they seem to have realized that it was a shitty idea, and instead now concentrate on their AAA Block Buster titles, like for example Saints Row, Company of Heroes and Dawn of War.

have to agree with you here, if your producing shit games that dont sell its pretty likely you will go under, they lost a shit load on the udraw tablet thing too, which i have to say i own and is quite good fun, but apart from pictionary there isnt a great deal of point to it.
plus they have costly licences like WWE which doesnt have the draw it used to because of stuff like UFC and lack of charismatic over the top characters that it used to have.

plus DOW2 sucks ass.

HUGE BITZ RESTOCK NOW ON

They used to own the rights to make UFC games too but they sold it I believe.

Space Marine is a good game, if they developed it further in a second one I think it could be a viable alternative to Call of Duty etc.
