Default Final Fantasy VII to be Re-Released on PC

Evening All,

As the title says, Square Enix have decided to relaunch FFVII for us PC lovers of JRPG's.

New features have been added, among these are: Achievements (W/Live) and something called 'Character Booster' which is pegged as a 'Way around the Grind'. Whether or not that will cost anything is unknown but it is likely.
The only noticable daw back is that it can only be bought from Square Enix's online store.

Find the Article HERE

And the Official Website HERE

While the Official Website has little on it so far apart from Character Bios and the Sys Req's, it looks promising and is likely to be quite popular.

Minimum System Requirements:

Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7 (32/64-bit)
2GHz Processor or faster
1GB RAM
DirectX 9-compatible graphic card

Enjoy

Alice

Hmmmm

Now, I LOVE FF7... i have beaten this game so many times over on the PC and PSx I have lost count!

Now, I wonder if this is going to be a HD remake as those are some serious specifications - the original could easily run on a 10th of that power.

What worries me is if its going to be an underlying emulated engine.... that would annoy me.

I still have my copy of the game for windows that came out over a decade ago.

No graphical improvements makes me wonder why it needs a 2 gig processor and a DX9 graphics card.

I still want to re-release done for the PS3 that they've been promising for over 6 years.

All that being said, I still feel FF& is one of the most over rated games in the history of gaming.

Looks pretty much to be the original game with one or two tweeks... I would have hoped for better graphics (I would spend a lot on this if it was all as good a quality as the PS3 launch demo vid FF7 intro sequence)... but if all they've done is make the control system a little less clunky then I'll be happy enough.

They need to remake this game from scratch, as a modern generation came. It would be the Best-Selling Game of All Time. And I don't actually think that is an understatement, that is how popular FF VII still is on Ps1 for hell's sake. A modern-day FF VII? I'd buy that without any hesitation.

Nope, that title belongs to ANY of the Call of Duty games past the first one!

as was Ghost Recon 2, Medal of Honour (past the first one) and if I am being very honest - I would also say Star Craft 2

I still have my original FF7 copy for the PS1, it also remains to this day the only final fantasy game I've beaten.

FF8 is also a great game and I would say as on-par with FF7 for enjoyment for me... however FF7 is a giga-epic-drama spanning a good 40 hours of play - 80+ hours if you want to max it ;)

If they brought out a HD remake on any system I would buy it instantly - I would even buy the system if I didn't have it..... .... aww crap.... there gonna wait unit PS4 or whatever aren't they?!

FF7 is one of the best games ever.... personally I prefer FF8 but that's personal preference, and I can understand exactly why FF7 is so incredibly popular. The only downside to playing it is the horrendously dated graphics in general play (the FMVs still seem pretty good) and having to hold cancel to run... can't say how much that annoys me

FFIX was the best

Regardless, i still played VII and willl likely acquire this too. What does everyone think of the Character Booster feature? If your too lazy to Grind for XP and Lvl's, you can buy it (Probably, nothing has said it costs yet but i can see it happening).
