Default The Elder Scrolls V: Dawnguard

So it's been out on Xbox 360 for a few days now, what do the members of Heresy think about Skyrim's first add-on?

Regards,
Jake.

Far too expensive. 45 on the game, 10-15 for the DLC seems overzealous.

I got it for free with my Game reward points so I guess that wasn't a problem for me. I've come to expect this kind of cost from DLC's now though.

Not finished the Dawnguard storyline yet but I'm enjoying it so far. The other added extras add a lot to the game too in my opinion. Mounted combat was well needed, though I'm not sure why it wasn't there to start with. Of the new enemies I've yet to come across a Legendary dragon but the others such as the frost giant and gargoyles are cool additions. Besides the crossbow I'm yet to come across any of the new weapons though I'm sure dragonbone weapons will also prove to be a worthy addition, I'll make a few at some point. The ability to craft arrows is another new feature I really like, it's handy being able to make your own daedric arrows.

Regards,
Jake.

i have a huge distaste for stupid shit that takes longer to produce for PC over an outdated console.

I ran across a Legendary quite by accident on the plains just north of Riften- bastard doesn't half kick arse, my character is pretty much as hard as it's possible to be for a 'Vampre Hunter' (Warrior/Archer) and the the Leg. Dragon still almost took me out. His shout strips away your health as per normal (though it's shock based so Dark Elves and Nord have no special advantage) but also pummels your magika and stamina

Dragon Bone weapons are bit iffy looks wise- I think they suit mainly Dragon Plate/Scale armoured warriors or if you're going for the slightly more primitive barbarian look, and they do tremendous amounts of damage even more so than Daedric ones.

I'm actually using my Crossbow more than my Bow right now just because of the abundance of Bolts you can buy on the cheap (but which still cause as much damage as all but the best bows).

Finally a use for all that Dragon Bone and Firewood- Dragon Bone arrows, woo!

My only complaint is that i have to wait

Then again i still have loads left to do in skyrim despite rediculous play time, so it's not all bad.

Aye, us PC players are still waiting. BethSoft's money whoring from Microsoft is very annoying.

Looking forward to the new features however, should be fun.

Indeed, those fuckers pack one hell of a punch. Ran into one about 30 minutes into it with my level 81 on master and the bastard had me roflstomped before I knew what the hell was going on. A word of warning to anyone who built a DPS spec, the standard "run up and beat it's face in" tactic is not going to fly.

As far as the entire DLC is concerned, I liked it. It was a bit overpriced, but not enough to make me regret the purchase.

I know. How dare they create a massive amount of new content based at least partially on feedback from the community, as well as a whole new storyline with new models, animations, and voice acting, and then release it for the same price as many companies charge for a couple of badly designed or rehashed FPS maps. Those pricks.

Personally, I'm totally fine with the 360 owners testing it so we get a more functional version on launch.

I'm looking forward to the modding oppotunities on the new models/abilities.

Storyline should be good though, despite the whinges.

Anyone know how good the Werewolves are now?
