you have WinRar? or 7Zip?

Get one of them if not. Extract the files to your DC installation folder. Installation folder should be something like:

C:\Program Files (x86)\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade
or
C:\Program Files\THQ\Dawn of War - Dark Crusade

Which one depends on what version of Windows you have, 32Bit or 64Bit. Either way it will be one of those.

I've got dark crusade and the way I play is I build up as big of a base as I can and max out my population out, then go and attack en-mass it is a bit difficult at the start of each level and does make the game take a while (and doesn't really work for capture point mission, but I only play campaign) but on the campaign when you must defend the place they attack it doesn't take much, just purchase the units and attack right from the start, they'll ha a small base and wont be able to repel the attacks that you deliver in the first 2 minutes, and all the automated defenses (turrets, ect) will stop their attacks or at least slow down the attack long enough for your army to return to base (although I've only every played easy difficulty on the campaign so I have no idea if this is a sound tactic for harder games).

I still play DOW fairly regularly, but am using the codex mod. It's a completely different game, more factions, more units. Some problems with balance but all in all much more depth with options for allies and titans and stuff like that. Specific craftworlds for Eldar, DAs, BAs, GKs Templars and Salamanders are armies in there own right. Also Chaos legions have there own specific units and special characters.
Then there is the Adeptus Mechanicum as a playable faction.

You got a link for that download? I play DOW all the time still and this looks amazeballs.

EDIT: IS amazeballs. Can't believe it took this long to find out about it.

Unfortunately Canada got rid of the penny and now my two cents rounds down to zero, so...take it for what you will.

haha you downloaded it last night then? It is a completely different game.

Orks are slightly overpowered in it though, as once they get squig bombs you can't really do anything to stop them, and they decimate everything. Also, with Grey Knights you can just spam build psycannon squads and they will beat pretty much anything.

Those really are minor complaints though, as all in all it's just a much better game than the original and the balance isn't too bad at all really, considering how many factions there are: I tried going back to the original to play the campaign again a couple of weeks ago, but it just felt really bland.

Still haven't tried it on multiplayer though.

So far I'm pretty consistent with BA playing skirmish on hard. I really dig it.

I'd say Chaos, Grey Knights, and Adeptus Mechanicus are the toughest opponents for sure. LOVE that I have Baals and DC now....can't imagine I'll be going back to normal SS any time soon.
