Default DoW 2: Retribution Worth Getting?

I played the original DoW games and quite liked them, when it came to multiplayer I was only ever really good with Tau though, anyway I was wondering whether it's worth getting it because it's only 8 at the thq store now and I want some more warhammer 40k to do that's not painting.

Personally, absolutely. But don't expect your usual RTS style game, there is no base building and it's more squad based, and it uses physics and cover. I love Retribution, I just wish they had more variety in the playable factions.

Hell yes.

The campaign is not the strongest in the series, but the multiplayer and the Last Stand game mode have almost infinite replay ability, so for that price I would certainly recommend getting it.

Tried multiplayer, team didn't help me in the slightest, they took all the power nodes, despite me having one at the start.

I don't like games where communities don't help new people, I'll try some more but I eased into the original DOW easy enough but this one is alien to me. I played the beginner game but when it came to multiplayer my team didn't respond, took all the nodes and ended up leaving.

Also it's using my account name for my player name, can I change that?

Add me on Steam ("Doelago") and I will jump in some day.

DoW II has a steep learning curve. On Steam free weekends I felt bad while playing when I butchered people without any actual effort (and probably put them of from buying it due to my "cuntish behavior" xD).

Then you all should come back to DoW DC! You know you want to, quite a few people here still play and we all know each other to a fair extent.

*reminisces of good old days of DoW DC FoK nights on xFire*

Anyhoo DoWII has its points and i did enjoy it but it will never be better than DC in my opinion

Started playing with Chaos, got better, played a unranked 3 vs 3 annihilation and won. Rank games, I still get owned though.
