Default Medal of Honor: Warfighter Military Only Special Edition

Military-focused online shopping site GovX has partnered with EA to offer Medal of Honor: Warfighter Military Edition, a special version of the game which grants bonuses to enlisted military personnel, as well as government employees.

Some proceeds from this version of the game will go to various GovX partners like the Air Force Association and AFA Veteran Benefits Association, Marine Corps Association & Foundation, and the National Association for Uniformed Services, plus others. Additionally, EA, GovX and certain EA "product partners" have agreed to make a donation to the Navy SEAL Foundation and the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.

EA and developer Danger Close, as you may know, have publicly been strong military supporters since 2010's Medal of Honor.

Not many details are known as of yet: you can wear the exclusive Project HONOR camo, and there are certain other in-game unlocks not yet specified.

If you are military or government, hit the source to get signed up and pre-order.
Not too sure what the benefits are so far in game aside from the camo, but really, you shouldn't be buying it for that purpose.

The SOW Fund was set up to support the families of those in the US SOF, and most importantly, the families of those who have lost brothers, fathers, husbands and sons, in an attempt to keep them supported for the largely unrecognised jobs they do. Actually giving their children a chance of a proper education and supporting the families with paying bills now that their main "breadwinner" has lost their life is a highly worthy cause.

This is provided as a donation by EA, while some of the sales of the game through GovX are going to go to military charities.

Currently this is US only, although hopefully Danger Close will extend their reach around the world so the Anzac and UK military will be able to support their own military through the sales of the game.

To do so;

As for the game itself,
Medal of Honor Warfighter takes place in multiple real world locations. So far, we’ve only talked about the Philippines and Somalia. But, for the first time in the franchise, the game is not based on one historical event. Instead, it focuses on a global threat called PETN, so you can expect to hear about more in the coming months.

Medal of Honor Warfighter tells the story of U.S. Tier 1 Operator, “Preacher” as he returns home from overseas only to find his family torn apart from years of deployment (including his time spent as a member of AFO Neptune in MoH 2010.) Trying to pick up the pieces to salvage what remains of his marriage, Preacher is reminded of what he’s fighting for - family. But when an extremely deadly explosive (PETN) penetrates civilian borders and his two worlds collide, Preacher and his fellow teammates are sent in to solve the problem. They take the fight to the enemy and do whatever it takes to protect their loved ones from harm.

Medal of Honor Warfighter follows Medal of Honor 2010 and focuses on key characters from that story including Preacher, Mother, Voodoo and others.

For the first time in our franchise history, Medal of Honor Warfighter is not directly based on a single historical event. Instead, the story is inspired by multiple real world events connected by a single terror threat. The Medal of Honor Warfighter story was written by Tier 1 Operators while deployed overseas. We follow a very personal story of “Preacher”, a Tier 1 Operator from the U.S. Navy as he returns home only to find his family torn apart from years of combat deployment.
If that isn't enough to get all us Hairy Arsed soldiers (yes, even you Alice ;)) wet, then you ain't human. Nice to see something with a story that isn't all "dude, see that 'splosion?".

Happiness, yeah?

Most games these days are all about "dude, see that splosion" and quantity over quality. Sure, they look pretty, and play well (For the most part) but few if any have anything like MoH does these days.

Its good to see EA and DC expanding upon the base they created with MoH2010 as well as helping out all those left behind by the valiant sacrifice and outright heroism of our militaries personnel throughout the world.
