Default Favourite retro game/console?

In this age of HD and ultra-realistic (well, mostly) graphics, it's hard to imagine that modern gaming was built on 8-bit foundations, delivered in nice accessible console packages.

I spent ages as a child playing Ghost 'N Goblins on the NES, had my soul crushed when I discovered that two runs were required to complete the game, then spent even longer trying to nail both runthroughs without dying horribly. (Satan, you tricky bastard! Damn yooou!)

Which particular game ate up the majority of your time?

The biggest time sink had to be the NES Legend of Zelda. I still play it now and a semi-relive the fun I had as a child.

For me it is my Pikachu themed N64. First console I ever had and still fun to play 4 player Lylatwars on occasion.

I have recently started a new Blog. I would really appreciate it if you would LOOK AT IT

Ha...Going way back to ghostbusters on the c64, wow it was crap but took me ages to complete, fav ever game that came on a cassette though, does anyone remember International Karate? Spent many happy hours on that game, and none of my mates could ever beat me on it coz I knew the joystick button combo for punching your opponent in the junk.....x{
3 contenders for making me miss the most amount of homework/school/work though, marioland on the gameboy, Mystic quest on the snes, and perfect dark on the N64 which is still 1 of my all time fav games (gutted the save chip battery gone dead in my cartridge)
