I think there would still be bitter fans. For several reasons.
- It's not D2.

- It's Not D1.

- Real World Trading now benefits Blizzard instead of going to X-Random Gold Farmer's Pocket.

One of those.

I think once you get past the bitterness and salty salty tears of people it seems to be a pretty good game all in all. Diablo was one of my favourite games so I'm looking forward to playing this one.

I enjoyed playing the beta so will probably buy the game after the release inspired price rise ceases.

Interestingly the internet contains many reports of failed connections and lack of fun if you can actually log in, whereas all the people I know who have it already have no connection issues and are finding it immersive.

The complaints that I think are legitimate are:

1. Unless they have fixed the graphics, it looks like a pile of crap that should have been released 6 years ago.

2. It is a five hour game.

3. It isn't bad, just.... meh.

4. It cost sixty dollars.

@Vaz: See Lokis222's post.

EDIT: Error 37. And it's a b+ game at best.

3000+ people I guess. I've never used/seen it before. I ment his post in general. It basically sum's up my issues with the game, and a lot of people's apparently.

IM not here to offend any of you, but everyone else who doesn't have the game should refuse to buy to show how much DRM is wrong and the RMAH is extremely unethical. This now paves the way for more Pay to Win mechanics.

You can't compare one of best cRPGs ever with Diablo which is and always was pure hack and slash.

And it's not 5 hour game tbh. Maybe if you rush through everything in multiplayer. If you explore every map, collect journals, do events etc it takes much more. 15+ hours.

And we all know diablo isn't about story. Its all about grind and delicious loot, and joy of killing thousand of enemies. And normal difficulty is just a warmup.

If you want to buy game and finish it just once on normal, than your money is better spent elsewhere.

There are some things I don't like in D3, but it's still Diablo game in it's core. I don't know what people expected. I'm happy with a final product.

BTW environments are beautifully designed, I don't see why people bitch about look of the game.

Price and required Internet connection to play seem like only legitimate complaints to me.

And if you don't like it there is always Path of exile which is also great.
