DOTA2 beta

Anyone here signed up for the beta on this seen the game it looks like LoL but bit more in depth tactics wise. Was wondering if anyone was on it and knew if it's worthwhile trying to sign up without having played the original DOTA?

I'm in the beta for DOTA and I prefer LoL by a wide margin. DOTA 2 feels like it is exactly that, DOTA 2, almost nothing has changed from the original in terms of mechanics.

It never hurts to sign up for the beta (it is free) but I wouldn't be playing it when it gets it's release build.

To be sure, it's faithful to the original with some nice minor tweaks, but I personally still prefer the faster paced LoL. Both are damn good games, but it's akin to comparing Quake to Battlefield. Same mechanics, wildly different gameplay.

Besides, it's just not...'right' until they release the single best hero, that being Goblin Techies. THEN we can decide if it's worth the effort.

I messed around with DOTA 2 but it honestly bored the hell out of me after a while. The character selection is interesting and offered incredible flexibility as far as replayability goes, but I didn't find it worth my time. It's the same game every time.

It's alright.
But like the majority of the guys, I prefer LoL. I prefer the item building on LoL (Or should I say I am more used to it) and the whole meta of LoL is much more enjoyable for myself.

From iron, cometh strength. From strength, cometh will. From will, cometh faith. From faith, cometh honour. From honour, cometh iron. This is the Unbreakable Litany, and may it forever be so.
