Thing is, several of the endings are only there if your pretty much an asshole and terrible at the game, and your 'War asset rating' is really low....

Thing is though... you have a series spanning three games where you've made multiple choices, friends, enemies etc... How can you tie it all together in and ending?

Short of doing a 'Fallout Montage' sequence... i don't think theres very many ways you could tie it all up. But then again maybe thats what they should do with the game.... tie it up with a montage.

I hated the ending, I loved the rest of the game. The ending just made me so disappointed that I'm not gonna play it again till the new ending is put in. I don't see a reason to replay it if there just gonna have the ending be exactly the same disappointing ending that closes nothing, regardless of your descion.

For anyone still interested in this, here is a video on You Tube that lays out exactly why the endings were so disappointing to so many without just saying 'cause it sucks' or 'its too sad'. Mind you it is 30 mins long but worth the watch and it is actually something I personally feel that every member of the Bioware Mass Effect team should be forced to watch repeatedly before they come out with the DLC in the summer to 'more fully explain' the ending.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Having finished ME3 and working through it again on Insanity, I have to say I am very disappointed. In nearly everything, and everyone, for several reasons.

Much of the game seemed recycled to me. There were changes from ME to ME2, but much of ME2 just became ME3.

The ending was terrible. When advertising for 10+ (I think I remember 16 being the magic number) you should actually have those. A word on that, controlling, merging, and synthesising were NOT different enough in my opinion to constitute all of these claims. You die, you die, and you die. Depending on how much of a dick you are you can kill off a whole race of people that tried to help you too.

Not to mention that you strand everyone who helped fight on a desolate planet, Earth, without supplies. I don't know who would like Shepard in the future, providing anyone on Earth survives. Unless Eden Prime or some other colony provides the basis for humanities continuance.

Why can't Shepard find a way that doesn't involve ruining everything? Can't I retire with my chosen love interest? Can't I see Shepard with kids? Can't he stay in and get promoted to Admiral, or something? Can't I sacrifice Shepard and see everyone else a little while in the future? Can't I see how the Krogan started a new war after you tricked them with the fake genophage? (I did cure the genophage for realsies in my game, btw) Those are different endings, not a cookie cutter ending where the only difference is which three people are standing on the Normandy at the end or whether or not there is a teaser that looks like Shepard is still alive.

Now, about the Synthesis ending. You know what, if it had been done better, I could totally see it working.

All through ME1 and ME2 we're watching and helping all these other races and proving that we're all not that different, and blah blah blah (if you were a paragon). So to have an ending that brings it all full circle and incorporates everyone together and creates more "unity" between races sounds great. But doing it the way they did sucked.

The ending was terribly written with plot holes, such as the Normandy flying away with your squad members who should have been with you. People stranded on Earth. And a series of others which are pointed out in the Indoctrination Theory videos on YouTube.

I certainly won't be buying any DLCs for this game or wasting money on multiplayer boxes full of junk. But if they bring in some new, or veteran, writers and give a solid ending that goes with years of being devoted to the franchise, maybe some players will keep going.

Otherwise, I think I'm about done with the whole thing. I guess I can go back to painting my 40k figures now, and bitching about GW.
