Default A long overdue achievement

This is going to be a bit of a rambling story, but I felt that I needed to share it with someone who didn't look at me like I was crazy (which is the look I got from my wife about 4 hours ago.)

Anyhow when I was 15 years old, starting my junior year in high school, I came down with a serious case of mono that almost put me in the hospital. I missed like a month of school and spent most of that month on the couch, eating chicken soup and playing the brand new, well new to me, Playstation that my folks bought me out of sheer pity. Anyhow one of the games they got me was Final Fantasy 7. Well I had played all of the previous incarnations of the game and absolutely loved them so I dove into this newest one whole hog. I played it almost every waking moment, though since I had mono there were few of those, and managed to get all the way to the end cave when my OCD about video games kicked in and I determined that I just had to do everything in the game before I could beat it. So I started breeding chocobos, racing them, blah, blah, blah, you get my drift. Well I got over the mono, went back to school, got really busy, and forgot about the game for a long while, never having fully finished it.

Same thing happened to me in college. I started from the beginning of the game, since I had forgotten most of what had happened in the game, and played through to the end, only to fall into the same pitfall I had the time before. Well my schedule got busy, I had to get another job, and so on and so on, so again the game went unfinished.

This story repeated itself two more times in the 15 years that have since past between the present and when I first picked up the game.

Well tonight..... The cycle ended. I finally kicked the dog snot out of Ruby and Emerald Weapon and finished up the game much to my great satisfaction.

My conclusion: The game still rocks.

End of story. Just wanted to share my achievement with a group who may give a shit and not look at me like I have lost my mind because I did a little happy dance in my living room because I beat the big bad monster

You are seeking evidence you are not crazy from us? I think that answers the question fairly thoroughly.

Nicely done Midge.

I fail to remember how many times i picked up that game only to find a shiny new one which took my attention. Not the best FF, i give that to IX, but a notable milestone in both gaming history and now your life.

Congrats on beating the game, it is awesome and i spent far too long playing it (like most RPGS).

Hopefully this will help to solidify your feeling of accomplishment

I think it took me longer trying to breed a gold Chocobo then it took to beat the Ruby and Emerald(emmy was the hardest of the two). I did that shit for almost a week solid trying to get that damn chocobo.
I kinda wish they would update that game for PSP or PS3, since the newer FFs suck.
