Default GAME will not be selling Mass Effect 3

Just a heads up for anybody who pre orderd Mass Effect 3 from GAME.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/337724/game-wont-be-selling-mass-effect-3/

This is confirmed on the Game webpage itself.

http://www.game.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HubArticleView?hubId=93018&articleId=137297&catalo gId=10201&langId=44&storeId=10151&cm_sp=masseffect-_-topnav-_-masseffect3

I have just ordered the N7 Collectors edition from Play.com for my son, and they were more than happy to take my money. Looks like its the beginning of the end for Game if they cant stock new releases.

Now have to go to town to get a refund from the store (Can't do this till the 1st apparently.)

Your toast has been burnt and no amount of scraping will get rid of the black bits.

So if you ordered 100 copies you would get 500 sorry bonus? Too late to buy from them now I guess.....

Missed the part about the bonus, I just read the negative stuff

That's not too bad then. I'm still interested to know what the reason behind this might be.

Regards,
Jake.

Companies like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft require that a retailer purchase a certain number of copies of a title (amount varies on title but is in proportion to it's budget, so AAA titles must be purchased in largest amounts).

Game isn't doing so hot at the moment financially. They most likely can't afford to purchase the amount of copies that EA wants them to buy, for various reasons (like the amount being well above pre-orders, most likely). While Game could have handled their business better EA isn't helping their Image with this latest news.

Most places that sell second hand games are getting flak about it, but it's a double edged sword. By taking the games back in trade in's companies like Game and Gamestop encourage customers to buy upcoming games with their credit, which is why most trade in promotions go towards the purchase of new games. Plus it's the sale of used games that allow those companies to stay in business, as new games only have a mark up of about $5.00, due to the games being price locked. Publishing companies are just mad now because people are willing to wait for the game to be available used because it looks like rehashed garbage.

Basically what it boils down to is that Game couldn't pay EA for ANY of the pre-orders... hence, EA have decided not to give them any.

The ME3 DLC fiasco is the most over blown piece of news I've ever seen concerning a video game, ever.
