Star Wars: The Old Republic? Aye, that is the one we Heretics have been playing day in, day out for several weeks.

It has been out since, uh, 20th in the US, and 22nd in Europe?

It is PC only.

And it is bloody awesome.

Really? It's the second most well known problem with Xbox's after the red rings. It most commonly happens to Xbox's that are standing on their sides as opposed to laying flat, due to the standing Xbox being more prone to shaking from vibrations.

The damage comes from the eye in the system rising too high when it is moved and actually rubbing against the disk.

No Gaming store would take back that disk, at least in the states. Gamestop and Best Buy both sell extra warranties for disk for that reason. Now if there is a local video store that has an industrial disk resurfacer you may be able to get the disc repaired, otherwise just trade it in at a store like Gamestop and use the credit to buy another copy.

Gamestop does that over here as well, for like one euro, but the closest Gamestop is very, very far away.

It happened to my copy of Halo Reach a while ago, all you need to do is get the disk polished. Just take the disk into a tech/gaming store (I went to JB Hi Fi), most of them have a machine you can use for a small fee.

After that the disk worked fine.

I have only had an XBO since christmas and I know from others that this is a common problem. The machine has been knocked at some point which causes the scratch or as others have pointed out it has been left on its side for too long. It does not even have to be a large knock, even perhaps vibrating on a surface can set it off.

Not sure how to fix stuff like this but the easiest way to make sure this does not happen again would be to buy a big external hard-drive and install the games onto the machine. Vastly reduces the chances of it happening again.

I have recently started a new Blog. I would really appreciate it if you would LOOK AT IT

I had this problem on my Original 360, scratched one disc but when I replaced my xbox i've not had the problem. It is one of the most famous problems 360's have ever had and had soemthing to do with the specific brand of disc drive being used, samsung, technika etc. So it is model dependant.

But in short yes, your 360 can scratch discs.
