My brother has told me that when they were making the game the developers had to choose between Mounts and Vehicles at first. Since Vehicles are more Star Wars, it was the obvious choice. He also says Mounts will be added in at a later date, when he's not sure but he says that it will definitely happen.

That said, I want a Varactyl mount. I had one in Galaxies, was a nightmare to find, and i'd like one here because the Varactyl is one of the coolest animals in Star Wars. Other then that mounts and vehicles mean *%&! all to me, they are transport and simply that.

thats the thing, I actually kept track of the game too, and I have insight on what is in development right now, I know that guild ships will come eventully, Vehicle and Creature mounts will be added in future patches. New races will be added eventully, but only those that have the ability to speak basic, so were not stuck with our characters speaking alien tounges and having to read every second of our own words to understand what were saying.

I just sat here and read through all this insanity and now I'm giving my 2 cents, why just for shits and giggles...

I'm gonna come out and say it straight up I have yet to even play SWTOR, mainly becasue everyone I know has said exactly what I had expected and you all have even reinforced that, which is WoW with light sabers. Though you all have me intrigued at least I will maybe even give it a shot and play through a free trial.

Before I make my Opinion and you all say"what do I know I have never played MMOs before nor do I understand them, I have graced the fileds of EQ 1, Anarchy Online(if anyone even remembers that game), WoW, WAR, and even Aion(which if had the proper support would have IMO become a great game) Not to mention some that I just don't recall ATM.

No company in any way or form is going to justify(to me) that I should pay a monthly fee to play a game I had to purcahse at full price, damn, I mine as well go buy a car at least one day I'lle rightfully own the damn car.
Second: ever since I have played EQ, no MMO has ever offered me anything worth me paying for, they are all the same go here kill 10 of these get some XP now go back kill 10 more get some XP, rinse and repeat, as Jez has said you are the community paper boy, there is no story progression whatsoever, so what is the point of becoming the highest leveled character in the game, it sure isn't exactly going to make you at all special in the real world, sorry being a Lvl 80 Pallidain is not a resume item regardless what many want to think.
(folks Im not mocking any of you in anyway)
My point I am making is that in the MMO world nothing has been done to reinvent the genre, every game since WoW has been a clone of it and though you may say that is not true, unfortunately it is. Some would say the games I play are pointless, such as playing Mortal Kombat, Arkham City, Skyrim, and even the Sims, at least when I complete a task I move onto the next and the story continues it doesn't just sit still and grow stale (not including the Sims, there is just no stinking story there, but it is a relaxing lazy gamer game, great to slow life down before the day ends). Perhaps given some time SWTOR will grow into something more unique, but as far as I have seen its the same shit different toilet.

just to point this out, what you said in red, spore, is wrong. SWTOR actually has a huge story progression, and the quests you do even side quests progress the story of the planet. while the side quests on each planet may not progress through the story as a whole (some if not many of the side quests are perfectly skippable without any issue) the main story is in each class quest, which, IS very much a progression of story, and the story as a whole is progressed through each quest you do, you learn whats happeneing by actually listening to the stories.

Sure, your actions on any one section may not 'permanently' kill or change the world, IE: if you kill a boss hes going to come back and others can kill him, etc. even if storywise, hes dead.

but this game has a very rich story, aslong as your not being a moron and spacing through all the Voice Over work, the story does progress.
