Default Video game advertising campaigns

Looking back at last year, it occurred to me just how extensive some video games advertising campaigns actually were.

I mean, let us just look at "Space Marine" we all like and love.

There were dozens of trailers, and advertisements on dozens of web sites, even on ones that were everything but gaming related. It was also the first time I have seen a video game advertisement on TV.

Then we have "Battlefield 3" which pops up on every Youtube video from MW3 launch trailer to "How to make awesome pet names".

Heck, it was even on the news paper on day. <.<

Is it just me or has video games turned that mainstream that their advertisements are now pretty much found everywhere?

There have been video game advertisements on TV before last year. But yes video games are very mainstream and they are popping up everywhere. The worldwide release of Call of Duty: MW3 was even a news story on BBC1 News if I remember correctly. Some have even started exploring live action advertisements.

Regards,
Jake.

Well, in that case Finnish TV needs to get the ball rolling, lol. Only like two months back they started a video games review show. Which had taken a four, five year break from TV, lol.

times have changed and the IT generation are now in the driving seat, all the kids born in the 70s are now in there 30s and home entertainment no longer consist of books,TV and Radio, game consoles/computer games are a genuine 4th option along with internet access and mobile phones. Plus the Wii has done a massive job of taking away the "geek" from computer games and giving access to computer things for families and importantly women, also strangely so has the term "App" call it an app and its cool and accessible, call it software or programme and its back to been "geek"

The thing i really liked in 2011 was the tv advert for skyrim, i really had to resist buying the game after watching that tv advert

HUGE BITZ RESTOCK NOW ON
