Default 2000 point Tale of war gamers

My local club are kick starting a tale of war gamers (essentially tale of four gamers but with more people!)
So I'll be taking the reigns of the vile rat things. Have read through their army book and absolutely love it. I have also perused the tinterweb for ideas to throw a list together, a wish list that I will breakdown for the purposes of our tale as it were.

Grey Seer
Earthing rod,

Heroes

Cheiftain BSB

Plague priest
Lvl 2 Plague furnace, dispel scroll

Warlock Engineer
Doom rocket

Core

30 Clanrats
FC, hw/s

40 Slaves
hw/s Muscian

Special

35 Plague Monks
FC Plague banner

10 Night runners
Poison weapons

Rare

HPA

Warp lightening Cannon

Warp lightening Cannon

I'm over by 40 points or so, so I need to shave, plus I would like to get a few more upgrades, like flail for for priest, warp token or skalm for grey seer and maybe storm banner for bsb, plus some weapons for him too.
This list is by no means definitive
Although I would like to the plague monks/furnace etc as I really like that model and the grey seer just so I can cast the dreaded 13th spell!
Any c&c will be greatly appreciated!
Cheers!

I would drop the champion on the Clanrats, Plague Monks and the shields on the slaves (they're there to die anyway) and the champs just give an extra attack, the idea with these units is not to break and not so much kill things.

Not sure how much that free's up, whats the minimum size for Night Runners? Would it be cheaper to run less Gutter runners? Not sure if I remeber correctly but how about the Globe (Brass/Death) on your Engineer, Skitterleap him into position throw the globe into something expensive and giggle at how much your cheap engineer has just killed.

The good news for you is that the Kit for the Bell/Furnace includes a Grey Seer so that cuts the cost a little, and I am sure that its possible to magnetise somehow (although not sure how myself)

Only issue there is I'll go below the 500 point mark for my core.
Are rat packs worth it? Or Rat swarms for the matter?

Swarms not really they're unstable so you lose additional wounds.

Small pack of giant rats will give you some cheap drops before you drop your buses and hordes allowing you to second guess your opponants deployment and increases your chances of getting favourable match ups for your units
