Default Best 'Value-For-Points' Hero?

Just curious as to what everyone would consider is the best Value for points hero in the Strategy Battle Game and also in War of the Ring.

Personally, in the SBG for me it's between Gothmog, Suladan the Serpent Lord or Grima Wormtongue/Gollum.

The latter of the two I pointed out may be very cheap and not very tough but they're very helpful when used properly.

Regards,
Jake.

Hasharin are good for points and elf captains, the Captains can take on most low level named heros with a good chance of winning and the Hasharin (I usually take three) can either cut down mass infantry with their number attacks and poisen while they can also take on heros (Sit down the entire fellowship bar Gandalf and Sam)

For me it has to be haldir, a strong arm in a fight and the ability to fire off 2 shots a turn all for 70-80pts its priceless. He can also take out enemy heroes with ease due his elf blade. With that said Dain ironfoot is also well worth the points defense 9 and the axe is just unkillable in combat, not bad for an old geeza.

Always went with erkenbrand myself, tough as nails and dead cheap, especially with the horn of helm hammerhand. There were three heroes like that in the rohan army book, theodred, hama and erkenbrand.

All really cheap and all hard and able to do a job.

kudos to lillian thorne for the awesome sig

Another good one to add to those types of heroes would be Gamling.

And Rangers of the North are great too, good for Might points.

Jake.

Indeed, he was tough too, the banner was always a bit do I dont I for me, never quite sure if it was worth the points.

Alot of the rohan heroes are like that though, nothing fancy, plain simple, do a job for low points but never truly excel at anything

kudos to lillian thorne for the awesome sig

The Banner is well worth the points in my opinion but others do think differently. Eowyns' not half bad either, especially for her low points cost.

Jake.

Damrod!!! Playing a skirmish match, turn 2: shot though terrain, hit a rider of eorl (avoiding the horse) and rolling a 6 no questions asked to wound!!! Made his points back and about double throughout that battle: Killed a couple of riders, sniped the odd standard bearer. Hero.

Personally I'm a big fan of Gorbag/ Grishnakh. Really cheap heros that are on par stat-wise with most unnamed heros and a good amount of might for the points. I also find Grishnakh invaluable as a way of allying Morgul Knights in to a force with out having to pay for a more expensive Minas Morgul hero.

I reject your reality and substitute my own.

Do one brave thing today.....then run like hell.
