700pts SBG Free Peoples

So with the new source books I thought I would take a look and see whats changed. IMHO, not that much just the mainly the army building rules and certain special rules which have been tweaked.

With this my mind I discovered that allies could be anyone from any faction, so I set about with the task of looking for some good combos that were previously disallowed.

The list I came up with has one thing in mind, to mess up the enemy armies courage. With most evil models having a low courage I would look to exploit this.

The Lady of Galadhrim will protect my advance from archers with blinding light and the all evil models will lose courage at the sight of her, this is where the army of the dead supported by the elves to win fights comes in. Wounding on 3's when I win a Fight, YES PLEASE.

The cavalry will most probably be a distraction and also offers me some range to the army whlst also counter charging enemy cavarly.

Take a look a tell me what you all think.

Nasty looking list and I like the sound of the strategy that you intend to use. I would be interested to hear whether this works well or not after a game. I may well try and think of a few nasty combinations that were previously disallowed too.

Regards,
Jake.

I have a game later tonight against Isengard, I will post up short report with some initial thoughts if I get a chance. I have some strong hopes with the list, but only time will tell I suppose.

It was a good game, I ended up playing against an alliance of Harad and Khand, the Isengard player did not turn up

Basically my list works how I had hoped, but the only flaw with it is that my numbers are relatively small. The elves helped my army of the dead win my fights but they are costly when one of them dies.

The army of the dead still are really hard to remove from the battle and the king of the dead backed up by the big lady 'G' is a winning combo. They win the fights and the king kills the enemy outright. Suladan and a chariot king both fell to his blade

The cavalry and storm caller help a lot against the cheap numerous Harad infantry, but they got overwhelmed by the enemy cavalry, not only being outnumbered but out matched as well.

Overall the new books seem to be pretty balanced but I can see evil forces having an advantage as the points gets higher. Also there is a lot more heroes and less troops than before. I like the changes and look forward to more great games of the sbg.
