Default holy flying circus

was wondering if anyone else caught this the other night?

it was the story about the back lash about life of Brian in the UK, leading up to the debate on the Beeb between John cleese and Michael Palin vs Malcolm Muggeridge and Mervyn Stockwood, the Bishop of Southwark.

It wasnt a documentary as such, its was written and performed as though it had been a documentary as if the pythons had made one about that time.

anyway i wont give too much away as i think it will be on again or on BBC i player, but was very funny and the cast were very good as there python persona's

worth a watch if your a python fan

I only noticed the difference after noticing it had Darren boyd playing John Cleese, i quite like Boyd as he keeps popping up in shows i quite like (whites, spy dirk gentley etc) , he plays John Cleese as though john is Basil faulty all the way through the show, plus it has some great dream and fantasy sequences including one very heavy nod to the "red mini" scene from faulty towers.

Thanks for pointing this out, I just caught it on iplayer.

The casting was great, Boyd's Cleese is hilarious and they did a really good job capturing the python humour. Hope this gets a DVD release.

I'd definitely watch more of that character. not sure if i'd be keen on more episodes of Fawlty though, it's the absurdity of seeing 'Basil' out of the show that added to the funny for me.
