I too am a massive fan of the UK comedy shows as well as the new series that seem to be coming out more and more at the moment.

QI and Mock the Week are well up there in favourite shows and League of thier own

BBC comedy hasn't been the same since they canceled "are you being served?"

I've really gotten into QI lately. Good stuff... but I feel too much goes over my head as an American for Mock the Week. I dont have a grasp on your politics and/or celebreties.

I'm a much bigger fan of MtW since Frankie Boyle left... Okay yes, he made the show, and he was awesome and I did laugh at him... Problem was his acts so samey you always knew what to expect from him. hell, if you saw any of his 'Live at the Appolo' type shows... his jokes were the exact same ones that were made on MtW.... unlike everyone else who always made up new and different stuff.

They need to make Milton jones a regular though. He's awesome.

He isn't the only one, the first few rounds of MTW always seem like an excuse for the panellists to re-use their stand up routines. I remember one of the 'news roulette' rounds where Ed Byrne stayed on topic for about 5 seconds so he could segue into his stand up.

I appreciate there's only so much material you can improvise, but MTW seems to re-use the same 'fairly' famous guests so often that if you watch stand up regularly you tend to hear a lot of repetition.

I much prefer QI and would I lie to you (and buzzcocks to a lesser extent), because the subject matter is always varied, and they take a lot more risks with their panellists.

I think the OP's post reflects perfectly my opinion on mock the week, the only really good bit about it is scenes we'd like to see - half an hour of that and i'd never miss it.

I like Mock The Week, but they do tend to waffle on a bit so they don't get much in... Scenes We'd Like To See is my favourite part, too.

I also like QI and Buzzcocks.
