ohh yeah, that just made my groin fizz !

these films and the hobbit movies may even convince me to buy a 3D tv. I have resisted so far (mainly due to the very expensive TV i purchased only months before 3D tvs became available)

HUGE BITZ RESTOCK NOW ON

I don't really care what Lucas does, he can't fuck anything up more than he already did with the prequels. I know a lot of people like the prequels anyway, and I'm not going to tell you that you are wrong, it's a matter of personal taste. But I always got the feeling that Lucas just thought "hey, everyone loves lightsabers, lets just add as many as possible! And add cool visual effects everywhere!" and just rushed the story. Seriously, the story of the new movies are crap, and he never seemed to get the point of "some stories are better left untold". The thing is, Lucas made loads of money anyway, which he knew he would. And he still does.
I like the old movies for what they are, not for the person who made them.
And I don't care if he "ruins" them more, I'm not going to buy them anyway.

You can't?

Why not? Does your VCR not work?

Mine still plays fine.
As does my laserdisc (TV has SCART socket) copies.

Nothing new in the blu-ray edition that I want.
(I have all of those extras on other editions).

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

who really gives a shit what he adds to a long dead franchise, if you don't want darth vader shouting no just don't buy the newer versions or don't watch them and stick with the versions you have, they are the same old movies in a franchise ruined by prequels.

Unfortunately not no. It has long since gone in the bin, and seemed silly to replace it for the 6-8 video tapes I still own. Besides, I had to get it out of the loft and wire it up every time I wanted to watch them anyway.

I'm sure a dvd or Blu-ray release of the untouched originals would sell decent numbers, so it seems a shame they aren't available.

Derp. Long dead is probably one of the most inaccurate things you could say about Star Wars.

[Flerden] 9:05 pm: Why the hell can't he just go offline if he goes to watc tv?
[dark angel] 9:06 pm: It is Doelago, we will never know

no I'm afraid star wars died when that pile of dog turd episode 1 was released, it was then further mutilated when being forced to watch an emo with a fancy blue torch go all emo on screen for what felt like many long drawn out hours of self harm

it then goes further with strings of god forsaken bad games like force unleashed and lego star wars 629.

star wars used to be cool when it was just 4,5,6...now its pathetic
