PS: People who clap at scenes in a movie go to the special hell.

Who are you clapping at crazy people? No-one involved in making the movie can hear you.

When I was a young boy, I dreamed of being a baseball...

Saw it last night, and it was pretty good. There were a few "WTF" moments, and more than a few errors, but all in all it was pretty decent.

Ok so the wife and I went to see this and I have to say that I have very mixed feelings about it. On the one hand it was a fantastic movie, tons of action, great effects, etc. On the other hand, being a fan of the books as well they took out WAAAAAAY too much. Oh sure, all of the action from the books is there for the most part but they dropped a ton of the emotional shit that made the book so touching at points. For example:

I could go on of course but you get the idea. I understand of course that movies are often altered from the books in order to make them more cinematic and such but they took things they should have left in, things that were needed imho. Like I said, it was a great movie and a great ending to the movie series and I will definitely go to see it again, I am just disappointed at what wasn't in it.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Wasn't enough fighting in it for me, for once I'd rather they avoid following Harry and instead actually show more than a few seconds of fighting.

I agree with Wraithlord on just about everything he said. The scene where

SPOILER ALERT

Molly kills B was much more humorous than it should have been.

Honestly, I felt that they left too much out. Reading the book was somewhat emotional for me, and the movie lacked that. The emotions between Harry and Ginny arnt really expressed enough.

Well said wraith, this is what I meant about the lack of 'epic' from the film. There's a lot of key points in the book that aren't treated with the levity they deserve.

I put answers in the spoiler section.

The only thing I felt they down played to much in the film:
