Game of Thrones New Casting

The next cast member of Game of Thrones Season 2 has been confirmed. The warrior-maid, Brienne of Tarth who is one of my favourite characters will be played by British actress Gwendoline Christie.

She's a very good choice for Brienne. She has the right colour hair, eyes and of course, she has the height at 6.3ft. Looking forward to seeing her as Brienne, and her scenes with Jaime Lannister.

Looks ok, just need to build mass alittle. Im actually more expecting who will play Davos and Stannis. And Jaqen of course.

I would love to see Robert Carlyle as Davos though, been personal fan of his for years. For Stannis theres too many options and for Jaq needs to be someone outside normal english actors circle, maybe Mads Mikkelsen.

Three more cast members have been confirmed. Davos Seaworth, Stannis Baratheon and Melisandre have all been cast.

Liam Cunningham from Clash of the Titans will play Davos Seaworth. He seems like a good choice for the role.

Stephen Dillane will play Stannis Baratheon. He has quite a few roles under his belt but none I'm familiar with.

And finally Carice Van Houten will play Melisandre. I think she'll do quite well in this role, and there is a casting tape of her available on TVfanatic.

The cast is shaping up very nicely. We have some of the most important roles cast. Now all that remains are the Greyjoys, who will play Balon, Asha, Aeron and Victarion? Can't wait to find out.

Yeah the actor that will play Davos looks perfect...not to sure about Stannis or Melisandre's though.

I think the costuming will really help, especially with Melissandre

The girl they got for Brienne is, as others pointed out, not bulky enough and too pretty. Martin goes out of his way it seems to point out how ugly the woman is in the books. Pretty much should be a ugly man with a vagina :-p

I'm pretty sure she's still touring off her "Born This Way" album.
