I might be wrong because I watched this at midnight, but weren't most of the enemies blinded due to the fact that the snipers blew their eyes out when B went on that little rampage?

You know what, even if it didn't, it was a good time. Yeah, it wasn't great, but it was fun.

When I watched x-men i thought "yeah, that's badass" because I knew what magneto was doing, why he was doing it and why he was there in the first place.

I have no problem suspending my disbelief, but I do have a hard time forgiving huge gaps in storytelling.

The first film is fairly unambitious in this department, and it works to it's advantage. Decepticons want something, autobots want the same thing, glasses show the way to the thing, sam has the glasses. Everyone's motivations and positioning in the story is laid out, it's simple but that's what you need for a 'turn your brain off' action film.

The story in dark of the moon snowballs from a set of good ideas into a disconnected mess, which challenges the audiences expectations at every turn but never gives sufficient answers to the questions it creates.

Well we will have to agree to disagree . I am not saying it is an Oscar winning film or anything but I don't think it is as bad as you guys seem to be letting on.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Saw this over the weekend and have been mulling over what I think of it. Like some of the prior commentary, I do think that there were some good ideas here, but the execution of said ideas were flawed.

For Sam, I liked the idea that...

It was nice to see the Transformers actually get more screen time, though I think there was no need to introduce more characters. I thought this was a war of attrition? I do have to wonder about the Decepticons especially...

I have quite a few more issues, but this is far longer than I intended.

It could have been a far better film that what it was. I don't regret seeing it, I just feel a touch sad at the wasted opportunity.
