Don't be afraid of the dark: There's a vague hint of promise from the director, actors and script, but ultimately the in-effective 'monsters' and moronic actions of the key characters wash it all away.

Splice - I watched it - and was extremely dissapointed. What started as an obvious attempt to avoid being compared to Species, ends with the film reverting back to being a Species clone from about half way in.

What started as an interesting premise, was lost in an attempt to shock and disgust for no better reason than that it had worked before in previous films of the same type. Watchable if it costs you nothing, otherwise, give it a miss.

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."

"But," says Man, "the Babel fish is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It could not have evolved by chance. It proves you exist, and so therefore, by your own arguments, you don't. QED."

"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

Starcraft Replays. Idra vs Elfi. The games were interesting but unfair, Elfi really never had a chance

Real Steel:It's not rocky, but it gets pretty freakin' close at times. Jackman and his young accomplice are on fine form and lift a typical sports based triumph-over-adversity story into something pretty enjoyable. You could stop at this point and you'd have an ok 3 star film, but chuck in FIGHTING ROBOTS and you've got a great reason to go to the cinema.

HERGE'S ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: Whilst it never shines as bright as a true classic, this is proper, old school boys adventure at it's best. A very faithful adaptation, the story is engaging and action packed throughout. The humour is a little awkward in places and never really hits the mark, but those scenes are few and far between in an otherwise great action adventure movie.

The Road. Great film, but I was drained after it. Do NOT watch this if all you're looking for some light relief. This is hard work.

KF's Journey Through His Plastic Crack Addiction. 40k, Flames of War, Bolt Action, and more.

The Adventures of Tintin: Secrets of the Unicorn: Pretty enjoyable, fast paced, amusing. Nothing too memorable although I will be probably watching the sequel in the Cinema as well. 3D wasn't needed though, the glasses hurt my ears .

Night at the Museum 2: More amusing than the last one, I found the bit with a certain Star Wars character to be rather... entertaining. I think this is probably better than the first one, but still not as good as it could have been.

whilst I didn't watch it today, it definitely needs a review:

Contagion: Like Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, this is a film which revels in the intricacies of it's premise rather than using it as a stepping stone for an action film. Rather than give us a protagonist fighting for survival, we follow a small group of people coping with an epidemic from all angles. Contagion excels in it's realism, and whilst there are certainly extreme circumstances (riots, kidnapping) these are never focused on too heavily, instead they simply enhance the environment for our characters. It's not a film I'd want to watch over and over, but it's definitely worth watching once.

17 Again: Whilst the plot is written from the big book of cliche, the script and acting deliver a pretty entertaining film. The jokes are solid and consistent, and thankfully it never tries to punch above it's weight.

V for Vendetta : It had to be watched on the 5th. Good movie, great message. A+ cast. Awesome script. A little bit of a confusing background, which I must look up on the internet. Definatly worth a watch. Empowering.
