Ultramarines - Not very good CGI, Still nice watching it though. Shame we didn't get any Dreadnoughts, Terminators, Assault Marines, Land Raiders etc. .

Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets - watched it with my son earlier. Acting is shocking in places, and far too little Alan Rickman. The fairly strong story does keep it going though, and dobby ironing his hands will always make me laugh.

Star Trek TnG.

Picard just got assimilated.

'I am Locutis of Borg. Resistance is futile'

Patrick Stewart acts the part of Picard well but this is one of his better pieces of acting. He portrays the 'essence' of the Borg very well, better than Alice Krige does as the Borg Queen. Topped of in the next episode where he visits his brother; Stewart puts on an excellent emotional performance at the scene where he fights his brother in the vinefields.

He has always been my favourite Captain of the Enterprise.

Sixth Sense: Still a quality, engrossing film. Oh Mr night, where did it go wrong.....

Black Dynamite:A firm kick in the balls to epic/date/superhero movie and all it's red-headed step children. This is how you make a spoof.

My knowledge of blaxploitation is limited at best, but this was very, very funny regardless. Highly recommended.

UP: Depressing as fuck. Good movie though. Recommend it if you don't mind crushed dreams as the central story point.

The imaginarium of Dr Parnassus: Original, quaint and quirky, Heath Ledger's final film is a glorious swansong littered with great performances.

Case 39:

If I'm honest it looked a bit shit, and it seemed shit when it went all soppy and saved the girl from an evil family, until the crazy bitch turned into a demon and tried to kill her carer and then she morphed into this really weird creature thing. Made me jump at least three times watching it, not that it's scary, stuff jumping out at you.

Watched it second time cause was almost ordered to. You can drop those things from your list and add believable plot, better dialogue, better action scenes etc.. Im not complaining about CGI cause of money issues, but those others things should have been made better.

And yesterday finished watchin HBOs Boardwalk Empire. And it was great.

Watched lots of films in the past few days:

Mr Poppers penguins: Same old work vs family morality tale, with added penguins. Carey is likeable enough, but completely on cruise control throughout.

Curse of the Were-rabbit: Something about Aardman just doesn't gel with me. It's a good film, and very enjoyable, but I find myself unable to rave about it.

Adventureland: Comedy and indie drama are both handled very nicely here. Good performances all round, even from the twilight mope factory.

White Men Can't Jump: It's HARD GOD DAMN WORK making a film this good. Plot is very shaky at times, but woody and wesley carry this so well it barely needs one.
