Got The Hunger Games on DVD today. Will watch it later this week, or the next. Have read the book, and liked it - although the second one was horrible.

I'm in the middle of a re-read of the Horus Heresy series myself, which I'm regretting now that I've finished most of the strongest novels out there. Still got Descent, BFTA, Fallen Angels and Nemesis to go. Those four are my least favourite HH novels, and I set myself a goal of trying to re-read them all by the end of the year. .

I just watched the first episode of Torchwood: Children of the Earth today in College during Lunch break. Lunch well spent, already liking this more than Miracle Day. It seems I'm watching Torchwood backwards.

Watched a bit of episode 2 as well, but had to leave before finishing.

In addition to Dredd (see separate review, it's very good) I've also seen:

The Watch: There's a lot of good jokes in this, but it's strung together on a predictable plot which is rife with missed opportunity. The key to comedy is to get a rhythm going with your audience, and this film jumps genres and tone so much it never hits even walking pace. One to watch on TV in a few years, but don't go out of your way.

Necroing my thread because why not

Finally caught up on some films this week:

Rush: I hate motor racing, but this film isn't really about the racing at all. Perfectly paced and lots of strong, interesting characters. A good measure of a film is how you feel after coming out, and how long the film stays in your mind after leaving - Rush delivered great results on both.

Runner Runner: Just watch the trailer - the best scenes are in the there and you can string the rest of the plot together yourself. Even as a huge fan of Affleck and Anthony Mackie i couldn't recoomend you spend money on this. It's not bad by any account, just nothing of note.

Ripping through Season 2 of Castle. I watched all of Season 1 last Sunday. Finished S2 E15 a few minutes ago. The sexual tension is making me SCREAM!

Plus Kate is stunning although I prefer her hair in S1. I think she's over taken Reese (Life) for my number 1 spot of drop dead female cops in TV series.
