I saw it yesterday and really enjoyed it. Damn, January Jones (Emma Frost) is hot! I thought they handled the background reasonably well, even if there were a few discrepancies from the original comics. Wolverine's cameo was also pretty funny. 8/10 for me.

KF's Journey Through His Plastic Crack Addiction. 40k, Flames of War, Bolt Action, and more.

Just watch 2 and then go see this, you aren't missing anything

But on the subject of characters... covered because some of its spoilerish...

Agreed, the cameo was perfect and made up for some of the atrocities they committed in origins.

IMHO this was the best Xmen movie to date. The managed to fix what the first 4 movies messed up badly as far as origins.

I would give this one a 9/10

I thought it was good but there where some minor points that bothered me.

There wasn't? Good. I left as soon as the credits rolled. Anyone else notice how obvious Fassbender's Irish accent became all of a sudden in the last few scenes? Not exactly canon...

The accent thing was part of the decision of the director. He did not want people using accents, which is kinda odd.

I wanna say something happened to Mystique but I can not place it. Just a nagging feeling right now.

There is a big change in raven that they expect you to embrace, but I quite like the subtle way they went about it. I realise there's a lot of reading between the lines, but for me the main factor behind her 'turn' relies on Charles' indifference to her feelings. There's a strong theme throughout that he doesn't understand her properly, and takes her for granted. In several instances there are clear opportunities for him to rectify this, and the fact that he doesn't suggests strongly that this amplifies her jealousy and emotional separation from Xavier.

You also have to remember that by the time we get to the first X film, she would have spent a great deal of time with Magneto. She clearly has a strong bond to him, and would be swayed by his opinions and ideals.
