They need to stop taking comic books/manga and turning them into "blockbusters". I doubt many people in the general populace even knew Priest was a manga (well manhwa as it really is done by a Korean artist if you want to get really technical) so some of the story and maybe even the characters themselves are either A) Changed so much they don't seem anything like the comics/manga/whatever or B) Left alone and people are stuck wondering why they are like that as you can only put so much back story into a single movie and still have a decent enough action/blow shit up ratio to keep the summer blockbuster crowd entertained.

Granted some movies have been great coming from comics and even a few video games but really Hollywood needs to draw inspiration from a new source, at least that's my opinon.

OP: I will be waiting for the DVD or Netflix as I have heard some really terrible things about the movie... though to be fair a lot of people read the synopsis and think it is just another vampire movie and that could start me on a whole different rant about movies being falsely advertised through the trailers....(Battle for LA comes to mind real fast for that)
The graphics do look amazing in Priest though so if nothing else I may find enjoyment in that.

I saw it and i admit i enjoyed it. I may be one who is esaly impressed but i thought it was pretty cool, and i liked the backdrop that the story took place on. I should hunt down the manga down and give it a read sometime.

And honestly ive decided not to listen to/read/take the advice of movie reviews, id rather go and see said movie myself and form my own opinions. tell hell if people think im a idiot, if i like a movie i like a movie.

Some days i swear my dice are trying to get me killed.
Is it bad sportsmanship to cackle evilly during ones game?

I'm sorry to say that you're going to be a bit disappointed. I looked up the manhwa when I heard about the movie. To say the movie took liberties would be understating it.

The manhwa takes place in the Wild West, not in some post-apoc future; there are fallen angels and zombies, not vampires (though they could show up, still the Big Bads are fallen angels); no motorcycles obviously. And this is just for starters.

I still actually want to see the movie to see what was kept from the manhwa.

The only awesome thing about this movie coming out is the manhwa is being released in omnibus form so you get three books for a cheaper price and all in one huge volume.

Hearing that this is post apoc really makes me sad... the wild west theme was actually really cool. I haven't read past the 4th book or so but it has a lot of potental, at least in manwha form.
