Movie "Hunter Prey" -- Anyone seen this?

So I'm looking around on Netflix the other day for a movie to watch and I stumble across the sci-fi movie "Hunter Prey." Has anyone else seen this movie?

I have to say it wasn't half bad for a low budget sci-fi movie. Pretty unpredictable, kept my interest for 88 minutes, and had an intriguing ending. Some of the aliens in there even reminded me of the Tau somewhat in how their faces looked.

I watched it and thought it was awesome for a small budget indie.

The highlight for me was the prosthetic suits, the aliens looked superb.

I agree, I thought the costume and prop design was excellent as well!

I'll have to check out if there's any other movies done by these guys.

I started thinking this would be awesome as a Ork vs Guard live action movie.

While on the subject of ork vs gaurd film...im assuming most here have seen the animated 40K film? which was....up to stratch.

but why oh why has they're not been an half decent blockbuster on the subject?
everythings there aliens, space, guns, religon. they could even miss out half the fluff and just do a Guardsmen in a trench and pass it off as a futuristic WW1.
i cant be the only one who feels as though they could knock up a half decent script?

just watched the trailer for this..downloading now.

First let me say sorry for completely missing this television/movie sub section.

Next let me say the Tau like aliens (forget the name of their species in the movie) would make for great guard. Kind of death korp of Krieg like.

When you first saw the bounty hunter did you think ork? I thought that when I first saw him, but he looks more LotR ork than 40K ork to me. Still, these guys did such a great job, I think they could pull off 40K ork as well.

I'd love to see an outfit like this tackle something a little more scaled up than "Hunter Prey." A giant battle involving thousands of guard verses orks might be a bit too large of a step from a movie essentially never having more than 3 actors on the screen at any given time, but someone's got to eventually do a decent 40K film right? One can hope anyway...

So... what did you think?

As to why no one has done a blockbuster on 40K I'd imagine (1) it would cost a lot to do it right, and (2) the movie industry doesn't feel like it would be mainstream enough to warrant that kind of investment.

Sci-fi films with cult followings like Serenity, etc. are more going to be the privy of smaller film studios who are willing to take a risk. But then again... the major studios seem to keep at other sci-fi titles like "Transformers," so who knows...

I wonder how many followers world wide play either the table top or video game of 40K verses how many kids grew up watching and being a fan of Transformers?

I wish there was a way to easily find that stuff out. You know, google "how many people like 40K?" and bada-bing have some hard stats to look at and compare.
