It was what I thought it would be. Seriously incredible CGI. I enjoyed all the very different scenes; samurai scene where she seemed all but invincible, WW1, medieval, futuristic. I enjoyed her using a samurai sword in conjunction with a pistol in every scene (Pistol/CCW anyone?). It definitely seems like a movie they could easily make into a cool video game. And it definitely was reminicent of 40K..steampunk Death Korps for sure, looked exactly like em. The medieval scene reminded me a lot of Lord of the Rings (Orcs, storming of a castle). Not upset that I paid to see it, and I'll buy the blu ray.

Not sure the wife was nearly as impressed though =) Luckily she fully supports my inner geek.

Saw it on Saturday and, honestly, not sure if I liked it. The eye-candy was spectacular! I could watch a whole movie of Steampunk WW1 battles. I felt the plot was a little thin:

P.S. Rocket was totally hot.

I've heard mixed reviews here in the states. General consensus is that it's average. Then again I really liked the Watchmen movie so who knows.

And what shoulder, & what art. Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat, What dread hand? & what dread feet?
What the hammer? what the chain? In what furnace was thy brain?
What the anvil? what dread grasp, Dare its deadly terrors clasp?
When the stars threw down their spears, And watered heaven with their tears,
Did he smile his work to see? Did he who made the Lamb make thee?

The movie delivers exactly what it promises. The only thing I ever saw advertised for this movie cuts from the action scenes and that is where the movie kept most of its momentum. What most people, including critics, are complaining about are the tidbits that link the rest together. For this purpose though, I'd say they did more than an adequate job of keeping the cool bits coming.

Then again, I watched it early and would never pay to watch a movie so my opinion may be skewed.

Also, add one more fan in Rocket's corner.

I wanna see it again!!!!

was a great film yes contradiction and all that but lets not take away from the actual film it was amazing and different, something all too rare at the cinema at the moment better this - original that Fast and Furious 5....come on! we get it, now leave it alone....

I was really impressed from beginning to end plus lets face it, any fo-pas they made in these contradictions can easily be answered with "dream world" "doesn't need to be 100% as her mind has forgotten bits. hidden bits ya-de-ya-de-ya"
