Icon Warhammer on the telly?

I've been wracking my overstretched brain to remember the name of the TV detective / mystery series from the late 80's / early 90's (not sure which) that contained a single scene showing a teenage kid playing a game of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. I was a teenager at the time and remember being very excited that my beloved game was hitting the limelight.

So - two questions - one to start a debate, the other to relieve my throbbing brain.

The debate starter - where else has Warhammer been on the telly, or even in the wider media outside of White Dwarf? And why does it appear so, so rarely?

And someone please put me out of my misery - what was the series I am trying to remember? I've got a feeling it had Nigel Havers in, but am not convinced (his back catalogue didn't ring any bells - see the lengths I'm stooping to to remind myself?).

Yeah, I've never heard Warhammer (or any wargames for that matter) mentioned on TV and the like either. Maybe most people think it's just too niche or complicated and so would just rather not have to give reference to it at all...

As for that detective series, the only thing that's coming to mind that ran from around that time is Murder She Wrote, and I've seen quite a few episodes of it without coming across WFB.
Anything else you can remember about the show? Any small detail might help.

Well, on the show "The Mentalist" I think it was in the 2nd season, the team walks into a sort of hobby store and I remember the episode because for about a second or two you could see a copy of the Hordes of Chaos armybook on the store counter.

Unfortunately it wasn't mentioned or even brought to anyones attention. I don't even think you could read what the cover said, I just recognised the book.

It's probably like this most of the time. If they ever do show it, it's only the fans who'll notice.

You may wish to turn the volume down a little bit before hitting play.

I can be seen in that video too (well, my arm at least).

Its only the news, but its still tv technically.

Pretty convinced now it didn't have Nigel Havers in. Was a UK series, probably BBC. One of the main characters was an older, slightly tubby Englishman, with quite a distinctive voice. I know I'm being very vague - I sleep on it, see if that helps.

Sounds like Pie in the Sky; I do not remeber a specific episode with Warhammer though.

Yes, does sound like that - but no, was before that series by a few years.
