i know in one episode of midsummer murders, the young guy in it was sitting in his room painting empire models when his rather tasty sister walked in to talk to him, and that was an early episode from about 96

That's later than the one I'm thinking of, but a good one though! Any clips?

This is from a show in Australia called "The Collectors" on ABC.

We hey! A positive depiction of the hobby. I'm surprised that most (all?) of the clips show the hobby in a good light. Maybe you don't get them in the UK because the british media would find it difficult not to take the piss?
