Default Scripted T.V shows

Is it just me, or are there far less scripted TV shows than there used to be? I don`t know what payTV is like, but it seems that all the free to air stations are capitalising on playing shithouse reality shows or talk shows of some kind.

For example, the only scripted TV shows I notice these days are the re-runs of long concluded TV serials from the 70`s or something. Not that they`re shit or anything, but it would be nice to see something new crop up a bit more often.

Off the top of my head, Supernatural and a few cartoon serials are the only things I`ve noticed receiving new eps.

Air Crash Investigations, The Amazing Race, My kitchen Rules, RPA, and more.

Does anyone else miss the days of real actors acting out a story for our amusement (soapies and dramas don`t count)?

Nonsense is our Salvation

They Do seem to be on the decline as of late, considering before you used to have Buffy, Angel, Friends, Stargate(s), Battlestar, Smallville, Scrubs, Greys Anatomy, Lost, ER, CSI, and many many more all going out on full whack. Only series I'm watching now that are still going are Supernatural, Greys Anatomy and CSI: Las Vegas

I watch CSI (LV), Bones and Castle, they are all scripted.
I'd like to watch Generation Kill crossed with Gray's Anatomy though.

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

Yeah its all judging shows here now.

You have some jumped up prick like Simon Cowell or one of the fags on the dancing shows. Celebrity/Reality Star comes on does a performance then the jumped up prick plays the pantomine villain and gets booed or clapped by the crowd.

It really is the lamest excuse for entertainment in the world. I actually can't remember the last time I sat infront of a TV aside from sport or movies... I think your IQ drops by 0.5 every time you watch xfactor, dancing on ice, dancing strictly at a gypsy wedding in the jungle or whatever the fuck they call it...

I rarely watch it these days.

I always have the TV on for noise around the house - it's usually Sky Sports, News, BBC24, or CNN, and I Record the shows I want to watch - like Mad Dogs (I need to finish that actually, the first episode was quality), Boardwalk Empire, and Films. Also, pretty much anything with David Attenborough. The guy's a living legend; makes even the dullest things interesting, like that thing about the Egg the other day.

Music Channels are so full of shit that I don't even leave Kerrang or NME on in case some shit like Fallout Boys or My Chemical Romance finds its way on.

I think it's partly to do with the fact there's so many more TV stations now, they need to fill them all up with shit. However the majority of the scripted stuff only seems to turn up on Sci-fi and obscure channels, with talent/celebrity/reality shows cramming up the traditional stations.
