Pan's Labyrinth. Your thoughts?
I went and saw this foreign film(Spanish, subtitled in English) last week, hoping to see a certain thing. Well, it was a bit confusing and about nothing I originally hoped for. Yet, it was still a decent movie, with odd twists and turns and a BRUTAL spanish captain that makes some Saw scenes look like Sesame Street.
It was another of those movies that left you wondering, was it all real or the character's imagination? I don't want to say much more as to not spoil the plot for some, but it's one of the creepiest movies I've seen in awhile. Especially the part with the child-eating monster who inspired a sort of terror not present in 99% of american-made films. The paintings on his walls were legendary. Very good directing, brutal and efficient plot and scenes, and cringing for days for some who can't stop thinking of the plier torture, the bottle beating, or the sickening gait of that fleshy monster...
