Default House. Who watches it??

So who else on here loves tthe good doctor? For me it's probably one of the best programems on tv, mainly all down to Hugh Laurie of course. This video shows quite a good bit of Houses character and the incredibly wide range of facial ecpressions Laurie uses ^^

I'm on the fence about House. I really do love the character; absolutely brilliant and snarky which is always great! What puts me on the fence is the repetitive plot line. Most episodes I've seen (and maybe I've not seen the unique ones) involve a seemingly impossible disease/symptom/whatever then his assistants try in vain to solve it, then it's Dr. House to the rescue all the while putting down everyone else around him! Really, I do love his character but everything else is boring and repetitive.

It's Houses interaction with others that makes the show interesting. He's only there because he likes the puzzles. Plenty of people also enjoy the show because of Houses willingness to go around offical channels, as they wish they could do that themselves.

Its a genuinely great piece of television and when you consider that Hugh Laurie started off as a comedic actor its pretty damn good that he pulls house of so well.

Everyone has a purpose, just so happens mine is more of an example to others of what NOT to do.

I know it's time to go to bed when the last post in every thread has been written by me.

House is the exact same show with just a different sickness every episode.

1) He is a prick to his friends and patients.
(commercial break)
2) A person is sick with some odd problems/symptoms.
(commercial break)
3) No one else can figure it out. Enter House Md.
Commercial break)
4) House steps in and fixes patient all while being a prick with his "I am better than you" attitude.
(Commercial break)
5) Grateful patient/family thanks House who replies in the usual, "I am better than you" snide comment.
6) Roll credits.

Now you have seen every episode of House, no spoiler tags needed.

Too predictable for me.

Apparently, when Laurie auditioned for House, the guy doing the casting didn't know who he was and thought that he was an American, judging him purely by his accent. Shows you got skills if you can dupe a guy who spends his life listening to actors.

I personally enjoy the show very much. The cases themselves just tend to be the background that allows the show to explore and develop the different characters more. Frequenly, a patient is just used as a plot deivce in order for one of the main characters to confront some of their own problems or issues. And every now and then, a really interesting case does come along and then I actually just find it interesting to learn something new.

The human appendix. Proof of a higher power. A divine kill switch so to speak.

No one really likes a smartass, but people tend to like a dumbass even less.

Ive seen every episode, its one of my favourite shows and House is definitely in my Top 10 Characters. House is the only drama show that I enjoy.

Ive never felt the episodes are repetitive because the background of the show, House's relationships with others, the complex issues that the patients bring into the hospital, the hilarious act of Hugh Laurie. The patient cases are always interesting to me, just to learn something about medicine and in some cases how they gained that unique condition.

I agree about Laurie's accent, its definitely impressive that he can make such a convincing American accent. Ive read that he uses his House accent whenever he is on set to keep in character and maintain it.
