Okay, the real reason I like this is, as Hooobit says, it's made entirely for the fans of the original.

It's nice to see something so directed towards fans as opposed to mass appeal for once, especially from a major studio.

To be fair going for the odd nipple is a good enough reason for me, looking forward to the black swan for exactly that reason!

I'm only 20 and i've seen the original, only by fluke tho, it was on channel 5 at some point bloody ages ago....back when channel 5 used to put a decent movie on it the evenings.

I've heard the soundtrack, and it reinforced my belief that whoever chose Daft punk to do it was a tone-deaf art-school dropout and fan of mediocre french dance music (I've never been a fan of their work).

I understand that while it may not have been possible to use some of Wendy (Walter) Carlos' original score, someone of perhaps more talent could have been hired.

I have not heard it along with the visuals of the movie as yet, so it might improve it, or I might just not notice the music over the pretty pictures.

Olivia Wilde is still hot though.

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

they do have some refferences to the original score in the new daft punk music.

Daft Punk style music = shit in my opinion so the soundtrack, while it fit the film well enough did nothing to impress me.

The movie itself however was really good with awesome effects and I enjoyed it completely with 2 exceptions.

1: CLU/younger Flynn: I understand that cgi was needed to make Jeff Bridges look younger as both himself and CLU but for fucks sake why didn't their mouth animations come a little closer to looking like they were actually pronouncing the words they spoke? To me this was the absolute biggest failure of the movie simply because every time either of them spoke it was incredibly jarring and completely took you out of the film by screaming LOOK AT MY OLD MARTIAL ARTS ACTION THEATER STYLE MOUTH MOVEMENTS!!!!!. I swear to god that the people who did that animation were on bad drugs or something to think that those lip movements were even close to looking realistic. Take a look at Avatar, whether you like the movie or not, and you will see that the mouths looked right when they spoke. When you are making a movie like Tron with its uber heavy emphasis on cgi you NEED to make sure the small things like that are done right or all the other cool stuff you have done is wasted. Pet peeve for me, maybe, but true nonetheless.

2: Zeus: annoying character from hell. Just my own opinion but I hated the entire scene with him in it simply because he was so over the top and jarring compared to the rest of the characters in the movie. Not to mention unbelievably stupid.

Other than that however I thought the movie was awesome.

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

Zuse was just a bit....... excitable. His acting once he got the disk was very good tho.
