I've watched quite a few films in the last 10 tens days or so.

Megamind - very enjoyable animation. Great voice actors and a great plot.
Catch Me If You Can - had been aware of this for ages, but only just around to watching it. It's not Leo's best, but was good.
Seeking a Friend for the End of the World - had heard mixed reviews of this one but I really enjoyed it. Quite a light-hearted, thought-provoking, end-of-the-world movie.
The Prestige - really enjoyed it. Excellent cast, and a thrilling plot. Great twists and a good ending.

X-Men: First Class.

Not as epic as I'd been led to believe, but still a thoroughly enjoyable "brain-off" movie

Stupid in all the right ways, brilliantly funny film.

Last film I watched was a low budget horror/psychological thriller called Yellow Brick Road.

I'm not really sure what to say about it, clearly low budget but sometimes this is a good thing, meaning a story has to be told rather than you being led by the hand through sfx scene after sfx scene.
YBR had some moments of genuine excellence, character development was good and it relies on a sense of building unease rather than outright scares, there are more than a few nods to 70's horror films which are fun to try and spot.
The end of the film sucked, I really do worry about this in a lot of low budget films of recent years, they come up with a stunning concept then fall off a cliff when it comes to creating a decent ending. For a film that is so original to end in such a clichéd way was a real shame.

Give it a watch if you get a chance but don't rush out to find it.

Theater releases or BR?

Anyway I went to the theater to see WWZ. Was not as good as I had hoped it to be but was still a good Zombie movie. Not the best I have seen mind you but pretty awesome.

I did reaffirm my beliefs though that there is no reason to ever go to the theater to see a movie.

Gokaiger Goseiger Super Sentai 199 Hero Great Battle.

Better than I'd thought it would be, though the plot was incredibly predictable, some of the fights we cool though. But I did get creeper out by all the shots in front of the faces with them nodding. Just was cringy.

Startrek into Darkness; great visuals, terrible plot.

Last film I watched was "the final countdown" (1981).

More 80s US Navy porn than Top gun - without the home-eroticism.

Prior to that it was Dredd. Wasn't a fan of it - even though I regard ol' stoneyface higher than any of the American spandex clad superheroes.

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?
