Default Training Day !

I know its not a new film, but i saw this movie last night for the first time and really really liked it, just wondering if anyone else had seen a greeat movie quite a number of years after its release and shocked that it was so good and wasnt "a classic" as such.

Not a classic?

Washington won a best actor Oscar for it and Hawk was a nominee...

It's a fucking immense movie. Easily one of my 5 favourite movies of all time.

About a rookie LAPD Counter narcotics detective(hawke) and a veteran detective(washington) mentoring him. Only it becomes apparent that washingtons character isn't quite the model image of a cop, and Hawkes life becomes pretty chaotic from then onwards. Get it and watch it, its brilliant

I see a "Classic" as something black and white and over rated but Hollywood gets all teary eyed over it.

But yes brilliant movie, very edge of my seat stuff, whats shocked me is that its a Washington movie i hadnt seen(which im very ashamed of) and its got Hawk in it !! they are like two of the best actors on the planet (hawks a pretty good writer too).
Some very big musicians in it too (dre, snoop and gray) doing exellent jobs as supporting actors.

I would give "Training Day" a 9/10, as it was an absolutely brilliant movie...

The only one that really comes to mind is 'sleepers', i saw it about 7 years after release on tv one night and it gripped me start to finish.

And just to keep the ball rolling, Training day is awesome

It is a pretty good film, but non of my friends watched it. Its just one of those films that never really got popular.
