Firefly, Sarah Connor Chronicles, Voyager, Spartacus, 24, V and countless others were instantly great.

This is shit.

The strength of the comic is the characters and their ongoing struggle to maintain a grasp on humanity, it's going to take a while to hit it's stride (if it does).

So far i think they've done well to capture the tone in several places, and the acting and cinematography has been pretty good. The father and son section in the first episode was great, and as we get more character interaction we'll see it it's going to be shit or not.

Voyager and the Sarah Connor chronicles? Really? Two of the poorest scifi shows, I thought. Oh well.

I'm actually really enjoying Walking Dead. I'm a big fan of the comics, and I think they've really done them justice. Can't wait till the next episode.

I am digging the show so far. I liked the comics as well and this is a pretty damn close version of those from what I can remember and I am willing to continue on with it for a while longer.

Voyager Jez, really? I am down with the others, especially Firefly and Spartacus, but VOYAGER??

one thing I want is the ability to split my fire everywhere, it makes no sense that a squad of 10 guard or marines or whatever all have to fire at 1 target with everything, is the guy with the lascannon not smart enough to realize maybe he would be better off firing at the massive tank looming overhead instead of the little man no bigger than a squat running at him, or is that far too complex for the 10yr olds?

You can't please everyone at the same time. Then again Jez, your tastes seem to be a bit different from everyone elses. I mean Sarah Connor Chronicles? Voyager? V? Really?
Then again I can see why you don't like it. It's because it is actually good.

So far it has been entertaining. Nothing ground breaking or crazy, but that is actually a bit refreshing. Why does every new series have to be "WOW, AMAZING, CRAZY!!!" right out of the gate? Why not build some suspense, add just a little bit here and there and keep the story perpetually growing without becoming over complicated or confusing to a new viewer who may have missed the first few episodes? Sometimes simple is better.
I think a lot of people got put off from shows like Hero's, Lost and 24. Those shows are over complicated and jammed packed with pertinent information every 2 minutes that if you take a long piss and miss the start of the show you are fucked for the rest of the season. If I want to do some serious thinking while I watch TV I'll put on the game show Jeopardy.

Just watched episode 3..... *facepalm*

Some of the acting is absolutely terrible.
And as for the storyline... nothing really happened.
The whole episode was just about the chick regretting being a whore.

Needs less romance, less bad acting, and more zombies and guns.

On the upside, the makeup and acting of the zombie cast is good, id give it 4 brains out of 5. Just a pity the main actors weren't as good.

This is my major issue with the show.

It's totally cheesy bollocks. A storyline ripped right off of Pearl Harbour, poor acting, iffy effects.

In places it's watchable and interesting. Others its cringeworthy. Putting meat on yourselves then walking around is both pathetic and stupid. They did a fake zombie walk in Shaun of the Dead as a pisstake, when I saw them hacking up the body then putting meat on themselves I couldn't help but laugh, especially when it starts raining and they dont get in cover. I learned that one at school aged 3. Plus the gore washes off in 1 minute of rain.

There's something unpolished about the whole production, whoever they hired for continuity is a total prick too. Their continuity team sucks arse. THe scene where he's pounding the fat guys head in, there's blood all over his face, all over his hands - everywhere. Then he stands up and the blood has magically disappeared.

I'd guess none of you have worked on a film set before so you don't noticed editting issues and continuity issues. But for me when there's one in every scene it becomes difficult to watch.

As KoC said, more zombies, more gore and blood, less of the patronising retard romance and a little more professionalism from the crew in series 2 please.

I think people that have read the comics will appreciate this show a lot more than those who haven't, which is sort of a failure on the part of the series, but...

It's good. Not great, but pretty good. For those that aren't enjoying it, I suggest picking up the comics and reading those as they're really fantastic, even if you end up giving the show a miss entirely.

Amen to that; the comics are amazing. Although I do think the show is also rather awesome, although i'll prefer watching it on DVD than on FXHD
