Aside from what's been mentioned, i'd throw in District 9, Escape from New York, and Children of Men (whilst it's not strictly Dystopian, it shares the tone).

Equilibrium would probably be my favorite one...but I must say, Brave New World is an impressive read...

RoboCop. Is there any better? (None of the sequels mind you, just the original.) If you can find the "Criterion Collection" version, I highly recommend it. It is basically the "directors cut" with all the deleted scenes put back in. The film originally was given an X rating due to graphic and realistic violence. They trimmed out some very gruesome scenes to garner an R rating so it could be released in normal theaters.

Planet of the Apes. The Chuck Heston version. Classic.

For a book, 1984. It was the first book of its type that I ever read. I loved it. To this day I have never seen the movie as I fear it will destroy my visions of what "1984" will be.

I had this same fear. But I saw the movie, and I was actually pleasantly surprised. It was exactly how I imagined it to be, they did do a very good job. They miss out quite a lot of the aspects of the book though, probably to save time and money. It is still a very good adaption though.

Ridley Scott is making a film of Brave New World which should be released in a year or two. He directed Blade Runner and Gladiator, two amazing films. But I'm still not sure if he will be able to pull off Brave New World. It has Leonardo DiCaprio in it and I'm still undecided about whether I like him or not. I thought he was good in Shutter Island and Aviator, not so great in other films. I've got my fingers crossed hoping they'll do a good job.
