And you will not be left wanting KhainiteAssassin, I do remember a friend telling me the movie does indeed take place in Toronto. I believe his words were something along the lines of "finally, a movie shot in Toronto that actually takes place in Toronto and not some city in the US."

Saw it last night, absolutely loved it.

Cera plays roughly the same character we've seen before, but this time with fightin' and bass skillz. I thought the storyline was fairly original, the acting was overdone in all the right ways, I really dug the soundtrack. I've had a soft spot lately for movies that shoot for a sort of 'alternative' visual style...in this case, there was of course the 8-bit video game element. Similarly, I liked the black-and-white-with-flashes-of-color of Sin City (lifted straight out of the comic, I might add), the graphic-novel visuals of 300 and the gimmicks they pulled for Grindhouse.

But yeah. Anyway. Concerning Cera...he is a bit one-dimensional, but he jives very well with the writers in my opinion. Superbad had some of the most unexpectedly brilliant gems of writing I've seen in a comedy, and Juno wasn't bad on that front, either. So knock him if you like, but watch Superbad again sometime and actually pay attention to some of the dialogue. They fit an Orson Welles joke into a high school comedy. How could you not love that?

This movie looks horrible, I credit it to the surge of hipsters. I want to punch Michelle Cera in the face.

Ummm...at least half the appeal of the movie was watching Cera beat the shit out of hipsters.

What do you expect? Its coming from someone who likely knows next to nothing about the movie, does not plan on seeing the movie, but will damn well make sure he hates the movie anyway.

And should he see the movie, yeah right like he's gonna like it or admit to it; because then that would be giving at least some iota of credit to who or what might not be liked.

thought the movie was average, alot of the comedy and action had been stuffed into the trailer and promo spots and what was left wasnt that great, it could have been improved with a stronger cameo type cast playing the evil ex's, brandon routh and chris evans were a great start with some good tounge in cheek acting, but they were followed by complete nobodies and the latter part of the film felt rushed.
I also thought the actress playing Ramona was pretty dull and i didnt understand/missed the reason why scott would put himself through the fights for her, i was almost praying that someone would have written a clique into the story to explain why he would drop the pretty Chinese teen chick for this dull almost emo woman hes just met.
I know its supposed to be a comic book comedy and from the outside it ticked all my boxes, but it just didnt deliver, Kick ass was far better.
Also i found the 80's retro gaming stuff a bit forced, i got thinking about it and maybe its my age but the 80's retro game elements speak to my age group (mid 30's) but the film felt as though it was directed at the late teen- twentysomethings so it felt a bit miss matched in that respect, also the power ups and skill increase icons animations seemed to come at random. The pee bar has been shown in the trailer but it was unrealistic, no man on earth has ever peed that quickly, they could have done so much more with that scene, they could have also had the pee bar filling up as he drunk various coke zero through the movie.
Im looking at this from a pure movie set of eyes, if this movie would have been improved by reading the comic thats fair enough. thats not to say i didnt enjoy it, some parts were very good and very funny but it lands squarely in the would watch it again but i wouldnt own it category.
