I think a lot of those quotes worked terrifically well in context, although some were undoubtedly cheasy. For example: everything Arnold Schwarzenegger said.

Finished: Too Much Love Will Kill You (working title), an original fiction novel. Working on: Second draft of Too Much Love, and the first draft of A Winter's Tale (working title).

Pretty much hit the nail. But that's why we love him. His seriously cheesy lines coupled with his thick accent is what makes him awesome. Or at least, hilarious.

i must say i dont see the lotr quote to be cheesy or bad :/

the moons glare upon the sands of the tombs
the wind roars across the desert dunes
a ripple appears in a still oasis
sand shifts under the shaking earth
the moon shines upon their resplendent forms
steel and stone, rock and bone
jaws of the jackel
claws of the desert lion
The earth quakes in terror
Quatar marches to war
the constructs march to war
and under their iron tread, none can stand victorious
