Not really, seeing as the glass is all curved, so the arrows would naturally deflect off the glass.

Shouldn't matter all too much. Still a much steeper angle so should still punch through.

Dude I was messing. it's sci fi it doesn't have to make sense. plus the Na'vi are much stronger than humans so an arrow fired by them would have a much higher penetration than an arrow fired by a human. almost to the same scale as a bullet perhaps. unless you get a na'vi, a bow made from pandora materials and the chooper from avatar and test it you're not going to know so just put it down ot sci fi rules. it can happen coz it's not real...

Strength has nothing to do with firing an arrow... It's the bow that matters. As long as you can pull the string back it doesn't matter whether or not you're five or a body builder, it goes the same speed... Well, they're bows are pretty big, blah nevermind I just nullified my own point. But, the reinforced glass on armored cars today is pretty damned strong with three layers to it, hard for even a gun to pen...

But yeah I see your point, I'm just saying they're all like "this is futile we're gonna get raped!" but then in the end they're like "olololol we owned dem humans with our bows n' arrows"

Not to mention the main character is a fuckin' Furry, yiff in hell Cat-man...

A bullet travels faster, but an arrow is heavier than a bullet.
p(momentum)=mv.

PS: Just to be a hypocrite: It's silly to try to apply real world physics to a movie.

strength actually does matter when you are firing a bow, as it is the tension in the bow itself that determines the velocity of the arrow, not the string, therefore if you are stronger then you have more tension in the bow. why do you think new compound bows have several pullies, it is so less strength is required to fire the arrow

How many pages do i need to go back to get on topic?

We should probably take this to a physics forum and get some real answers.

Personally i don't care what happens in the film, i'll watch it regardless just for the visuals. The plot was pretty run of the mill first time around. It's all about the pretty 3D.

I got sent a DVD copy of Avatar a couple of days ago, i'm afraid to watch it at home as i can't see it getting close to the cinema experience.

Not really, considering that they are firing their arrows upwards at targets. And whenever you fire anything up, it naturally loses velocity.
