Supposedly the original gets destroyed in one of the new episodes
It got destroyed in episode one, but he built a new one at the end of the episode. There is nothing to say that the sonic screwdriver he gave River Song in the Library was the same one - and since both episodes were written by Steven Moffat I assume he's allowed for it somewhere along the line.

Tbh i dont like Matt from what ive seen, there is just something (dont knwo what) that i dont like. Then there is his head, its just odd looking.

But Amy is the best looking of his assistants, wish i could get hair like hers But il still give him a few more episodes though before i officaly say hate him as the current Doctor

I really like him. He reminds me of Tom Baker.

Given that his current companion may make the choice to leave the doctor, we may in fact be seeing Song as his companion. (I doubt it, but you never know.)

BUT, just look at River's driver

And look at Ten's

Ten recognized it as his own because it;s obviously the same one (or same model) highly modified.

Now, look at Eleven's

Totally different. Not sure I even like it, it;s very aggressive looking
As for the doc himself, Tennant is an insanely hard act to follow. The man redefined the role, for me at least.
That said, I didn't like Tennant at first either. We'll see

At least he's not traveling with Donna again.
I miss Martha Jones. I was disappointed when she didn't end up joining Torchwood (not that there's much left of that after Children of Earth)

Already available for pre-order from Big Bad Toystore, by the way

*If* the one River had *was* the one that was destroyed in episode 1, it would explain the ammount of rebuilding that had to be done: the eleventh (or twelfth, or thirteenth) doctor knew which screwdriver was the basis of River's screwdriver and repaired it using the salvaged parts of the old one.

Meh. Alex Kingston is back for at least one episode this season, so I'm sure it will be explained (eventually).

Last nights episode of Doctor Who was absolutely epic. New Doctor, new assistant, new Daleks. Plus these new Daleks have real hierarchy. White for Dalek Supreme, Red for Dalek Drone, Blue for Dalek Strategist, Orange for Dalek Scientist, and Yellow for Dalek Eternal.
