My personal favourite is the opening battle scene to the new Star Trek very different to what the previous ones have done.
The battle scenes in LOTR are awesome as well.

Blackadder: They do say, Mrs M, that verbal insults hurt more than physical pain. They are, of course, wrong, as you will soon discover when I stick this toasting fork into your head.

Vulkan: “How careless of you. Of course we have big guns. We're the Salamanders. We've got plenty of things that explode, burn, explode and burn, explode then burn, and stuff that shoots lots of small things that explode and burn” Lastie From the funniest fanfic ever

SPR and LOTR pretty much set the standard across the board for fantasy and WW2 stuff.

Nice to see a nod for Children of men, though i'm surprised there's been no mention of The Matrix, Kill Billor 300 yet.

Though they're on a smaller scale i'd chuck in Leon, Last Samurai and Open Range.

300. all of the battle scenes were epic. ending was also cool, where the 10,000 spartans and the 30,000 greeks were charging across the big ass field to fight the persians.

Matrix Reloaded where they were fighting off the machines with those mech things.

LOTR Two Towers, SPR beach landing, Band of Brothers, the one where they assaulted the town in bastogne (what Lt. Spears did in that battle was awesome), Revenge of the Sith where anakin and Obi wan fought, and the kashyyk battle, and pretty much every other clone vs droid battle IMHO.

The last charge of the samurai in Last Samurai was cool.

I could name more once I've had time to think about them

My youtube channel. Feel free to stop by and have a look if you're interested. I do Airsoft, some warhammer related videos, and gaming videos.

Come to think of it, the planetary invasion in the chronicles of riddick was pretty slick as well

Real Men/Women/Aliens/Heretics/Warp Spawned Filth/Big Scary Space Monsters play Battlefleet Gothic... why dont you???

I've not yet managed to stay awake long enough through LoTr to comment on the battles.

The Matrix APU gunbattles were cool.
There are going to be some epic battles in Avatar.
The Dominion V Federation battle at the start of the Dominion War DS9 arc, where a Jem'Hadar fighter takes out a Galaxy class starship in a ram attack.

Hey! Where'd ... Everybody ... go?

For scale, Return of the King, battle of pelenor fields.

For intense action, I'm split between the fight on Geonosis in SW2, the final fight in District 9, the last fight in Transformers, or the office bldg shootout in Max Payne. All pretty good, intense, with good effects.

I would say the fight on the platform over Zion in the Matrix: Revolution, but it just looks too planned, not to mention over the top. No way would those guns stop that many sentinals. If they cut the sentinals back to one quarter, or added bigger guns, I might have bought it.

Harmlessly passing your time in the grassland away;
Only dimly aware of a certain unease in the air.
You better watch out
There may be dogs about
I've looked over Jordan, and I have seen
Things are not what they seem.

In No Particular Order:

-The Opening Sequence of Saving Private Ryan
-Gandalf vs the Balrog in the Fellowship of the Ring
-Urak-Hai vs The Fellowship in the Fellowship of the Ring
-The Opening Battle in the Fellowship of the Ring
-The Assault on Helms Deep in The Two Towers
-The Ents March on Isengard in the Two Towers
-The Battle of Pelennor Fields in the Return of the King
-The Black Gate Battle in Return of the King
-The Genosis Battle in SWII
-Pretty much every battle scene in SWIII
-The Assault on Both Death Stars in SWIV/SWVI

I'm trying to think of some more, but none of them really come to mind.
