I'll have to see this new red dwarf I think, seems to be a lot of "meh"s coming from those who have seen it so far, but that might just be in comparison with how fun the originals were.

It was ok I thought, not amazing but then it is the first episode in what 9 years? Perhaps they will take a few to get back in to it. One thing I did notice is the lack of studio audience/background laughing. It felt weird until I watched the older ones and realised. I think in a way the laughing made some of the shitter jokes a little easier to stomach!

Default Red Dwarf

Post Merged into this thread
Anyone see the second episode of the new Red Dwarf three part'er?

'I'll give him a ring, but he's not like us, he's a bit...' (twitches manically)

'Hello, Jim? Sorry to interrupt the warhammer, mate'

Laugh? I nearly wet me kecks.

Seriously. What the HELL was he thinking when he wrote this garbage? It's like a crap re-write of the despair squid episode.

The second episode threw me as it seems such a cliche idea, then it struck me, theres only one possible reason for this plot.

Oh and aye the Warhammer comment made me lol as well.

Personally I thought the episode was hilarious and much better than the first though I can't help but notice an inconsistency.

Edit: God damn it I can't get that button to work. Either that or it won't work on my useless computer. . .

"Playing Warhammer is just like making love. It's usually done on a table and afterwards you always feel great shame. Plus like most fun things the older you get the less fun it becomes. So remember, always wear a condom while playing Warhammer - I've got mine on now."

The hobby even got mentioned in the second episode though.

I missed the first 10 mins of the second new one, so please explain why the Earth can sustain hard light holograms? Bear in mind I haven't seen many episodes of Red Dwarf, so if I'm missing something here I apologise.

Its all explained in the final episode, and aye it was generally funny, but not what I was quite expecting.

Reading interviews with the cast making the suggestion this three parter has given them the urge to make more is hopeful, especially considering the viewing figures Dave got for showing it.

Can but hope for a series nine.
