I'll tell you all what war movie is good, it is called You've Got Mail. Brilliant film, good depiction of war. I was genuinely scared at the final fight scene.

"You've got mail"... with Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks??? I cannot remember seeing much blood and guts in that lovey-dovey girlie flick!

I was testing to see how long it would take someone to point that out. Really I love the Vietnam scene in Forrest Gump and Saving Private Ryan, so Tom Hanks is the big winner anyway.

Haha all I thought about when you said that was--"then one day it started raining, and it didn't stop for 4 months" hahaha I love that part.

One of the best War Movies ever is a little known film from Australia called "The Odd Angry Shot". It follows the Aussie SAS in Vietnam and has some of the most profound statements of how a soldier thinks. It also has some really dark pieces of humour. All in all a really excellent film probing into the psychology of a squaddies at war.

Full Metal Jacket...I mean they sing the Mickey Mouse song, how can it not be my favorite

No matter where you go in life,
Whatever be your goal.
Keep your eye upon the doughnut,
And not upon the hole.
